Insurance Asia/Pacific (IAP) comprises ING’s insurance and asset management operations in the region. Headquartered out of Hong Kong, the insurance operations consist of 8 wholly-owned or joint-venture businesses operating across nine major economies including China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand. Insurance Asia/Pacific sells various types of life insurance products including annuity, endowment, unit linked products, universal life, term life and group life. General insurance products are offered in Hong Kong SAR and Malaysia.

ING Investment Management

ING Investment Management (ING IM) provides a broad range of investment management services to all local Asian markets in which it operates. It is one of the world’s largest fund houses operating in Asia Pacific with USD 88.7 billion assets under management as at 31 December 2008 and also ranks highly according to retail and institutional assets.

To expand the company’s business throughout the region, ING IM Asia Pacific has established over the years wholly owned new companies and joint ventures with local business partners. Over 1,200 staff work in the Asia/Pacific region in 12 locations including Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand. The Hong Kong SAR office is the regional headquarters.
