Insurance Insights - SLF Indonesia's Public Lecture at University Indonesia
SLF Indonesia, on Monday, November 16th 2009, held a public lecture for Faculty of Economic students, University of Indonesia. This lecture, part of SLF Indonesia’s corporate social responsibility program, Sun Bright, saw Chris Lossin, President Director of SLF Indonesia giving an ‘Insurance Insights’ lecture covering topics such as basic insurance principles, financial planning, insurance sales, risk management, as well as roles and functions within a life insurance company.
This public lecture was well-received by the more than 100 students who attended the lecture The students, mainly 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates all had a insurance component as part of their studies, took the opportunity to ask a insurance practitioner questions ranging from how does an insurance company handle the many catastrophe risks in Indonesia, how does insurance company manage the global financial crisis, to what are the strategies from insurance companies in facing the low insurance penetration in Indonesia.
SLF Indonesia has held its Insurance Insights public lecture program since last year as one of the company’s efforts to increase insurance awareness among its Indonesian target market. Other than holding its own public lecture directly with Indonesian universities, SLF Indonesia is also actively participating in the public lecture program initiated by the Indonesian Insurance Associations Federation in conjunction with Insurance Goes to Campus program.
